Why Video Why Now? The Reasons You Can't Afford To Miss Out

Welcome back my friends! Mikey is here with one more video topic for the week! I shared this in our private group and the information was just too good not to share.

Why Video? Why Now?

Social media is continually changing the way that we communicate and consume information.

The most successful content marketers are delivering content consistently through multiple social media channels. It comes as no surprise that with all the content that is posted across these channels, that visual content is more than 40 times more likely to get shared than all-text content. Video is no exception. 

It is becoming an increasingly important part of the promotional artillery of marketers and large organizations consider it the most engaging communication channel for their audiences.

The question is: 

Are you making the most of your video assets across social media? With online videos accounting for more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic by 2022 – you need to be considering your options going forward. 

Here are some reasons why you should use video in your social media.

🎯 Grab Attention:

Video is a fantastic tool to hook your audience.

Unlike a long-winded paragraph, it is extremely easy to consume.

We’re all guilty of passively scrolling through our social media feeds and only the most compelling content tends to make the grade for our attention. Video allows you to be concise and capture viewers’ interest in the first few seconds.

Social media success lies in your ability to condense information down into easily digestible snippets of content that is long enough to maintain viewers’ attention but short enough to leave them wanting more. You should place clear indicators of the videos intention at the beginning before users have the chance to scroll away.

Posting a video on social media is similar to a conversation, you can only discuss one thing at a time. Otherwise your audience will quickly lose interest.

 With your call to action in mind, your video should be telling the story that leaves viewers wanting more. If you’re adding something to the video that doesn’t contribute directly to the call to action, you may want to consider removing it.

You can repurpose many of your large video assets to focus on unique messages. If done efficiently, the asset can last for months and you’ll have compelling content for the foreseeable future.

It’s important to deliver relevant content to your audience.

Video gives your brand a voice and allows you to move quickly to take advantage of news stories, consumer behavior and any kind of relevant content that goes viral.

Some of the smartest brands incorporate these real-time techniques to become a part of the social conversation. Many popular hashtags also recur on a weekly basis (such as #wednesdaywisdom) and span across a range of consumer demographics. As a brand, you want to create campaigns that spark

conversation and linking your video to the latest trends is key to doing so.

Following The Basics for Better Video Engagement

All social videos should possess a few certain elements: 

First off, a call-to-action (CTA) is essential. 

Although one purpose of a social video is to expand brand awareness, it should also highlight a specific action you want viewers to accomplish. 

For instance, many YouTubers always ask viewers to “like, comment, and subscribe” at the end of each video. 

However, more specific CTAs can be more fruitful. Depending on your desired objective, always ask your audience to share the video or visit your website or follow you on Facebook— or anywhere else—at the end of the video. 

Social videos should also contain a hook and engaging content throughout. Many viewers will drop out within the first several seconds of a video if they do not find it interesting 

If necessary, it is better to create a series of shorter videos than one long video. Because engagement for even a two- or three- minute video is only about 63%, make sure your video is filled to the brim with engaging content throughout. 

Social video will give your business more attention than ever before. As long as you spend time creating quality videos and following the marketing tips above, viewers will fall in love with your brand 

 Always remember to use video as a way to interact with users, not as a scheme to make more money.  

When people know that you care about them, they build a positive, trustworthy perception of your business. Video is essential to any social media campaign. Marketers across the globe are realizing the potential video has and are taking advantage of it.

 🎯 1. Go Live On Facebook 

If you want more people to watch your videos and see your Facebook posts, consider going live on Facebook.  Facebook’s algorithm has been updated in order to favor live videos as data has shown that live videos typically hold a user’s interest for a longer period of time. 

Don’t Waste Time at the Beginning. When it comes to creating Facebook videos (and videos, in general) you don’t want to create a long, drawn-out introduction that steadily builds up to some masterful climax that shocks and awes a visitor. 

 🎯 2. Your Video Must Get To The Point  

Keep it simple Don’t try to throw too much at people at once with your Facebook video. 

If you want to increase the likelihood of a video being consumed and then shared, it needs to emphasize one simple, easy-to-understand point 

 🎯 3. Go Long And Vertical  

While run length affects engagement so does the length of the video description. Longer descriptions hook viewers. 

The average engagement video with descriptions over 300 characters was 0.39%, while engagement with descriptions of 200 or fewer characters was between 0.19 and 0.21%. When going LONG, you also should go VERTICAL as Facebook audiences are more receptive to vertical videos. 

Vertical earned an average engagement rate 40% better than landscape videos and 100% better than square videos. Those results make sense given that over 98% of active users worldwide accessed the social network via any kind of mobile phone in April 2020, according to Statista. 

🎯 4. Use A Mix Of Video Content 

To keep things interesting use Live video, Tutorial Videos Informational videos. Promote and distribute your video content for maximum impact. Reach your audience on Facebook with videos that add value and capture their attention 

🎯 5. Add A Call-To-Action (CTA) 

Having a call-to-action (CTA) on your video is a great way to encourage engagement, drive traffic to your website, and even convert viewers into customers.
