Do You Have Any Magical Moments?
Is There A Hidden Importance? “The World is Full of Magical Things, Patiently Waiting For Our Senses to Grow Sharper.”
This really spoke to me today. I was thinking about a recent magical time that made a difference in my life and it was truly important.
It's been such an incredible time on the farm in Georgia.
From the people to the views and the weather the sun just hits you differently here.
You can feel the peace in the air you can drink it if you wanted to. The most amazing this is being able to be around some great animals, you never know what you're going to see.
Back at the end of November while out on the tractor I was going to the other end of the field when I noticed something was going on with a cow.
I quickly realized that she was about to give birth!
And within a few minutes the little calf plopped out nearly on its head! There was it need for help or for anyone to intervene nature just took its course.
I actually was able to record the birth and the first couple steps the new calf took.
A little bit later and he started coming to and was welcomed into the world as his momma cleaned him up.
What a magical moment.
I have never witnessed a live birth before let alone a cow giving birth! It was something I will never forget!
I think it's important to have moments like this because it puts life into perspective.
There I was and nature was just doing its thing.
Life was just happening.
It gave me a new perspective about life in general and just how amazing animals are. It also gave me a great deal of awareness of how precious life is to every living thing.
There was another moment on the farm a month later when a calf was stuck during the labor process, one of its legs was caught up and wasn't able to come out.
The momma cow was walking around the field scared with just the baby calf's head out.
The tongue was dangling and it clearly did not make it.
We had to jump into action and help the process along to save the momma cow... I'm not going to get into that story right now, perhaps another time, it just put everything into another perspective.
Where I might have felt before like I couldn't deal with a situation like that or at least couldn't see myself being able to do anything to help, I was able to.
I came to another point where you have to take action or you don't. Sometimes you just have to take action and give it your best.
Learning the different levels of life and learning the different levels of yourself is very important and because I was able to experience both ends of the spectrum it totally shaped my life and it was all magical.
I truly believe seeing that baby calf being born on the first day here was such a beautiful experience that it also helped me when not so beautiful things happened with other births
We lost 2 calf's and a momma cow in a short amount of time and it was something I never would have expected to have to be part of. We thought another calf wasn't going to make it, it looked dead during birth as well.
So we had to jump into action and assist with the birth. The tongue was hanging out and it didn't look good.
We got it out, splashed water on him and he started moving around! That was even more magical! We thought he was gone completely and then magically he starts moving around and coming to.
Are you someone who takes action or are you someone who freezes up?
Either way I believe magical experiences that happen in our lives are important because your life will shift for many other reasons and things to help accommodate your actions in many different situations.
